Where We Started

David Haraburda Aka David Delski

After the closure of Bob’s Foodland, longtime meat department manager David Haraburda, started Delski’s Prime Meats in 2004. Over the next decade, Delski’s became a hidden gem in the Grand Rapids area. David still gets his meat at Delski’s and always bumps into someone he knows. 

He is known to put on an apron here and there, but is really enjoying getting back to work on his collection of cars. 

Meet Mike

Mike moved to Michigan from Chicago in 2012 with his wife Heather. They bought Delski’s from Dave in 2016 with the plan to expand the business. With a background in hospitality, they have always tried to focus on the customer. More space, more choices, and more convenience.  

Mike and Heather have 2 future sausage makers, Matthew 8 and Benjamin 6. When Mike is not at the shop, he spends his time getting easily distracted by his many hobbies.

  • Yea baby!!!! THIS is the place to go to get your meats and cheeses type food. Fantastic selection of food. Great lasagna. Love the jerky and meatloaf. And the very best part is the friendly and helpful service. I got there at closing time and the gentleman happily unlocked the door, went back inside and let me make a purchase. Very cool!! THIS is why I keep coming back!! Best place ever!!!

    As a Polish westsider, it felt weird to buy kielbasa on the southside, but I was close by and decided to try Delski's. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!!!! The flavor was really balanced and the fine texture was perfect. NICE WORK!!!! I also grabbed some hot German potato salad to-go and it is absolutely delicious.

    Just shopped at Delski's. What a great experience. Friendly staff, very nice , very helpful. Personable staff. I can't say enough about always having a great product available. Are you looking for a real good butcher shop? Give Delski's your try. You'll like it.
